Super Admin Dashboard
A scalable dashboard for creating, managing, and overseeing organizations and users across a legal technology platform.
Targeted a 40% reduction in admin setup time.
Improved prototype task completion to 96%.
Created a scalable foundation for future org management.
Problem
Admin work depended on too many manual handoffs.
Internal admins needed to create organizations, invite users, update enterprise settings, and reduce mistakes during onboarding. The existing process created uncertainty around data accuracy and forced teams into repeated support dependencies.
Approach
Start simple, then scale around real admin behavior.
- Facilitated stakeholder debriefs with product and engineering to define MVP scope.
- Interviewed internal admins to identify pain points in onboarding and data entry.
- Used comparative analysis of admin dashboards to benchmark hierarchy, state handling, and table patterns.
- Separated immediate MVP needs from later-phase organizational management capabilities.

Design decisions
Make the admin’s next action obvious.
- Kept the first release focused on organization creation and user invitation rather than overbuilding every possible admin function.
- Reused familiar design system patterns to lower engineering lift and create consistency with the rest of the platform.
- Introduced clearer error and validation states to reduce support escalation.
- Documented expansion concepts separately so leadership had a roadmap without bloating the MVP.
“That was fun.” I constantly found myself thinking this after interacting with Jacob, from both a personal and a professional stance.
